Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra Cargo Bed Camera
MVI Inc is pleased to announce our newest member to the MVI GM Camera lineup. 2014 – 2018 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra Cargo / Bed Camera. This new GM Third Brake Light Camera will work perfectly as a Fifth Wheel or Cargo Camera for you guys hooking up a 5th wheel trailer; or for anyone that needs to monitor the cargo in the truck bed while driving (requires our Audio Video Input Module or 360 Surround and Blind Spot Camera Module for on demand camera viewing). This camera is a perfect fit, underneath the factory third brake light, giving it the perfect OEM look once installed.
The Molded Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra Cargo / Bed Camera: This product has unfortunately been discontinued by the manufacture for over a year now and is no longer available.
Adjustable Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra Cargo / Bed Camera: The finish on this GM third brake light camera is more of a matte black. The benefit of the adjustable camera is exactly what the name implies. It will rotate side to side and up and down, inside the base; top give you the perfect angle of view in the bed. This is the perfect solution if you have that tonneau cover or tool box etc., that takes up 12-18″ of space directly behind the back glass. This will also allow you to see above your rear tailgate when in the up position, to see your cargo when pulling a hitch mounted trailer.
Reverse Only Operation: The kit ships standard with the camera assembly and harness long enough to route to the front of the truck cab. It has power and ground leads and a video output RCA that will plug into most aftermarket head units.
When you add our optional 2 way Video Switcher, our GM Third brake light cameras will now tie into your factory infotainment system. This switcher allows you to switch between your Factory GM Tailgate Handle Camera and the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra Cargo Bed Camera. If you plan on adding a Wireless RV Trailer Camera to the system, simply select the 3 way video switcher in the options above. It is important to understand that using the system with the switcher option only, allows you to switch between your tailgate camera and 3rd brake light/cargo cam while in reverse only.
In-Motion and Reverse Operation: If you need to pull up the added cargo bed camera while moving down the road, you will need to add a separate module to the display screen.
We have two options for allowing in-motion camera viewing: Our 360 Surround and Blind Spot Camera Module will allow you to add 3 additional cameras such as Front for Parking and Left / Right Turn Signal Cameras for blind spot elimination. Our Audio Video Input Module with optional Smartphone Screen Mirroring allows you to view the cargo in your truck bed as you drive down the road, as well as give you a second video input for functionality such as smart phone mirroring. Both of those items can be found on our site by simply clicking on the product wording above.
Installation
Install is fairly easy; simply remove the factory third brake light, snap the new bezel around the base of the light assembly, route the harness into the cab and screw back into place. The harness will need to routed to the front of the truck and connections will be made both behind the glove box and under the dash. If you plan on doing this install on your own, please make sure you watch the install video to be certain its within your abilities. Click Here for Install Video
